Why pickleball
Why pickleball is so good for students
Pickleball is one of the easiest sports for students to pick up. They simply hold a light paddle and hit a plastic ball over a low net, and within minutes the whole class is moving, laughing and talking with one another, including the students who usually sit out of sport.
Active and healthy
Continuous movement that builds fitness, coordination, footwork and balance, without students noticing they are exercising.
Fun and happy
Quick rallies, plenty of laughter and a sense of achievement from the very first point. Students ask when they can come back.
Communication and cooperation
Played in pairs, so students talk to each other, encourage their partner and make decisions together on every point.
Connection and friendships
Partners swap easily, so students mix beyond their usual friendship groups and new or quieter students are welcomed in.
Every student included
Holding a light paddle and hitting a plastic ball comes naturally, so students of every ability take part, not only the sporty ones.
Confidence and resilience
Early success builds self-belief, and students learn to shake off a missed shot and go again.
Wellbeing and focus
A genuine break from screens and the classroom. Students return calmer, brighter and more focused.
Very safe, ages 6 and up
No physical contact, no hard ball and low-impact movement. Suitable for anyone aged 6 and over, with no upper age limit.

How a school session works
Arrive to a ready venue
The whole venue is reserved for your school, with courts set up and paddles and balls ready for every student, free of charge.
Pair up and play
No lessons or prior experience needed. Students pair up with their classmates and are rallying within minutes, and teachers do not need to know the rules. A coach is available for an extra $120/hour if you would like one, though most schools find it is not needed.
Every student active
Up to 50 students at once across 7 courts and the training court – most classes bring around 28. Students pair up and every one of them is active the whole session, all in one hall and easy to supervise. Anyone sitting out relaxes in the 60-seat lounge, with a water fountain and snack vending machine on hand.
